I spent most of this last week in Monterey, California for the Internet Librarian conference.  An early flight out on Sunday morning meant that I was able to spend some time exploring the city on Sunday afternoon before I passed out from sheer exhaustion and time change insanity.  Here are few pictures from Monterey.  I’ve [...]

I’m home!

I spent the last week in St. Petersburg, Florida for work.  The program I attended was amazing, though the actual accommodations left more than a little to be desired.  I really appreciate the opportunity to attend, but I’m also appreciating my own bed (and food, and towels, and pillows, etc) here at home.
The program was [...]

Jake’s parents were here last Thursday night through Saturday morning, on their way to Tennessee. We did all the best Athens things, including dinner at Casa and a trip to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning. Friday night while walking to dinner on Court Street, Jake saw this picture in the window of [...]

I’ve been a bad blogger this past week, but a pretty good knitter. I finished up the clutch for Jake’s mom, though I don’t have any final pictures since I sewed on the zipper and handle Wednesday just in time for them to arrive on Thursday. They’ll be here again on Wednesday night [...]

The weather in Mexico (at least where we were) is gorgeous, but this particular day was great. This picture is of the gigantic pool complex from our deck on that morning. For some reason I can’t remember what we did most of the day on Saturday, but I think it was mostly hang [...]

Mexico – Day 1

Instead of knocking myself out writing about our whole Mexican vacation, I’m going to break it into smaller bits.
The first day was Friday and travel day.  Fortunately, we didn’t have any serious problems.  Things were a little dicey when we first got to the Columbus airport though.  We left the house by 3:15am (after about [...]

Spring Just May Be Here

The last time I took pictures outside, it was after the great ice storm of 2009.  While the ice might be construed as pretty under other circumstances, the fact that it took our power with it, and wreaked  a lot of havoc for people in this area made it less so.
When I came home from [...]
